Palma de Mallorca is the largest city on the island with a population of over 300,000 people. Palma is the main point of entry to the island with the Port of Palma receiving large cruiseships from Spain and other neighboring countries and the Son Sant Joan airport on the outskirts of Palma receiving all international flights to Palma de Mallorca. Palma is also a great place for shopping and has several tourist attractions, of which the Cathedral La Seu is one of the most well known.

Palma's main shopping streets are the stylish Passeig des Born with designer stores and Jaume II with its numerous boutiques. There is also a shopping center under Plaça Major, the main square, which lies at the Northern end of Jaume II, where you can find shops selling leather handbags and other souvenirs. There are lots of small boutiques in the region near Plaça Major where you can explore all kinds of stores from clothes stores and jewelry stores to rarer jewels like a small boutique specialized in lovely scented soaps.

El Corte Inglés is the largest department store chain in Spain and there are two large El Corte Inglés departments stores in Palma located at Avda. d'Alexandre Rosselló which is near the train station and the other at Avda. Jaime III, which starts at the Northern end of Passeig des Born. There are many famous cultural sights in Palma de Mallorca. The most famous attraction is the cathedral La Seu, which is located in the historical quarter of Palma de Mallorca. The historical quarter is a great place to start your cultural tour. There are many interesting attractions such as the Arab Baths, La Llotja and the King's official residence La Almudaina.

In addition to the cultural attractions, there are also many interesting museums around the city. For example the Es Baluard wich is the Palma Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art and the Museo de Mallorca which is believed to be the best museum of the Balearic Islands.
